J.D. Huggins Memorial Arch: One of the most signature features on campus, the Huggins Memorial Arch, originally commemorated in 1943 to honor the service of Professor J.D. Huggins, now stands outside the LYCC. A gateway symbol of the transient moment between past and future, the Arch stands as a reminder to us all that while our time here is special, and while we have been shaped by our relationships with each other and our experiences in this place, we are always being propelled into the future with a responsibility to serve and impact others. In that spirit, graduates process through the Archway on their way to commencement, a fitting end to their journeys at Gardner-Webb and a beginning to their futures.
