  • THE SOCIOLOGY AWARD – 
Goes to an outstanding student in Sociology, which is the scientific study of humans as members of groups. There are two recipients of this award: Natalie Noel Green and Alexis Camille Gardenhire.

  • THE POLITICAL SCIENCE AWARD - 
Is presented annually to the outstanding senior in Political Science.  The award is named in honor of the late William H. Withrow, Sr., graduate of the United States Naval Academy, who retired from the navy with the rank of commander.    After graduate studies at the University of North Carolina, Commander Withrow taught Political Science at Gardner-Webb for 14 years and served a term in the North Carolina House of Representatives.  The winner of this award is Isaac Watson Pearson.

    THE POLITICAL SCIENCE AWARD - Is presented annually to the outstanding senior in Political Science. The award is named in honor of the late William H. The Psychology award is given to students who have demonstrated academic excellence, scholarship, research and/or service. The winners of this award are Jeremiah Jordan Hamby, Taylor Schwartz, and Juliette Lawson Ratchford.

  • The J.O. TERRELL HISTORY AWARD – 
Is awarded to an outstanding student of history. It was established in 1974 to honor the late Dr. J.O. Terrell, former Dean of Instruction and Professor of History at Gardner-Webb. The recipients of this award are Elisabeth Avery Moore and Sarah Grace Marie Lynch.

  • THE GRACE C. LEE NURSING AWARD – 
This award is given in memory of the founder of the GWU School of Nursing, Mrs. Grace C. Lee. The award is given annually to a graduating ADN student who, in the opinion of the faculty has demonstrated scholastic achievement, excellence in the clinical area, leadership ability and a positive attitude while in the ADN program. This year the award is given to Alyssa Renee Southard.

  • THE ALFRED AND SHIRLEY WAMPLER CAUDILL MARKETING AWARD was endowed in 2008 by Dr. Donald W. Caudill, Professor of Marketing. This is the seventh year for this award which includes a cash prize of $200. It is presented to a graduating senior majoring in marketing. The 2014 – 2015 finalists were (in alphabetical order) Will Canady, Ellen Huneycutt and Benjamin Joseph Payne.  The recipient is April Nicole Niccolai.

    THE ALFRED AND SHIRLEY WAMPLER CAUDILL MARKETING AWARD was endowed in 2008 by Dr. Donald W. Caudill, Professor of Marketing. This is the seventh year for this award which includes a cash prize of $200. It is presented to a graduating senior majoring in marketing. Nominations were solicited from faculty, staff, and students.  This year’s recipient is Connor James Bos.

  • THE F. KEITH GRIGGS STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARD is named in memory of Dr. F. Keith Griggs, long-time faculty member and chair of the Broyhill School of Management. The award is presented to a junior who has exhibited outstanding leadership in classes and extracurricular activities.  Mrs. Nell Griggs is here today and will make the presentation. The award includes a scholarship in the amount of $500 given by the family of Dr. Griggs and other donors. The winner of this award is Pietro Policastro.

    THE F. KEITH GRIGGS STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARD is named in memory of Dr. F. Keith Griggs, long-time faculty member and chair of the Broyhill School of Management.
